August 15 marks five years since the fall of Kabul. The next morning begins the sixth year, Day 1,827, and thousands of Afghan and Iraqi allies who served alongside American forces are still waiting for the visas they earned.
Their side of the process is finished. The visas are not.
Every day through August 30, we are publishing one ally's story. This is the Record of Day 1,827.
